Water impacts provide a challenge for wide range of applications, from aerospace, to marine, mechanical and civil engineering, due the complexity conveyed by coexistence impulsive loads, large local deformations high-amplitude vibrations. Thus, need reliable structural health monitoring (SHM) systems is emerging in industrial field fluid-structure interaction (FSI) applications. In this paper, we leverage previous work on strain displacement fields reconstruction analyse scale aluminium model subject water vertical oblique impacts. Fibre Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were installed hull ribs used both as (to reconstruct structure behaviour characteristics) control sensors, using their signals compare real reconstructed parameters, at locations.
